A major remodel is underway to transform the old Andrew's restaurant into a fresh, modern American bistro. The lunch and dinner menu offers a starter dish “Poutine,” made with hand-cut house fries, brown roux gravy and white cheddar curds. One of their sandwiches includes the “Eggplant Katsu” made with fried eggplant, roasted peppers, arugula, grilled portobello and roasted garlic aioli, on sourdough. The main dishes include their “Braised Short Rib Ragu'' made with pappardelle, house ragu and Parmesan reggiano. Hayward’s version was more souplike than the  thick stews we’ve had but it was good and flavorful. For our brunch, a friend was happy with her order of a five-ounce New York strip steak served with two eggs and marinated tomatoes. There are several salads, and one of the menu highlights was a smoked Caesar. We wanted to tour each section of their menu and savor a much needed date night away from our kiddos for a few hours. For the first time ever, I actually said “no” to dessert because we ate so much and had a New Year’s Eve party to get to, while my husband simultaneously said “yes”, so we ordered two desserts, of course! Hayward can seat 125 inside and 140 outside, some of those seats under colorful umbrellas on the sprawling patio. The front of the restaurant has clear garage windows so they can be opened on a balmy day. There’s also a private room that seats 50 for overflow business, special occasions or events.

It has so much to offer you, like live entertainment and karaoke on selected nights, various entrees to choose from, and a selection of alcoholic drinks. It is a wrap filled with sauteed portabella mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, spinach, melted Swiss cheese, and garlic pesto aioli.
